Circumnavigating India with 500 young adults to understand and build the India of smaller towns and villages through enterprise.

New year 2011 was spent hosting a workshop in a train carriage as we travelled through Tamil Nadu. At midnight 500 people crammed into two carriages to celebrate. There were people dancing in the luggage racks.

We circumnavigated India over 17 days – on a train journey of discovery and transformation to awaken the spirit of entrepreneurship among the youth of the nation. Along the way we met with real heroes of India who are developing unique solutions to the challenges of the country. I met my heroes when we visited the Barefoot College in Rajasthan, Goonj in Bangalore and Gram Vikas in Orissa. I will never forget listening to the founders and community members of these projects as they shared their journeys of discovery.
